ABOUT HOTMAC

Heart of Texas Miniature Aircraft Club, Inc. was founded in 1964 by individuals interested in building and flying radio controlled aircraft. 

Occupied since 1975, HOTMAC's 39 acre Speegleville flying site is located on U.S. Army Corps of Engineer property and has a USE AGREEMENT from the City of Waco, Parks and Recreation. The asphalt runway is 800' long by 80' wide. Vehicle access is by all-weather paved roads off Over Flow Road. See the interactive map. Electric only RV camping spaces are available to members and guests.

HOTMAC is a 501(c)4 non-profit organization and is chartered Club #613 by the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Revenue from annual club dues and events is used to maintain and improve the HOTMAC flying site. The current site is known as one of the premier flying sites in the state of Texas and the United States through the hard work and dedication of its members to furthering the sport and safety education of model aviation.


OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of the Heart O’ Texas Radio Controlled Miniature Aircraft Club, Inc., Waco, Texas is to educate individuals in all aspects of radio controlled model aviation including but not limited to the building, flying, safety, maintenance and repair of radio controlled model aircraft and perform educational and charitable activities under Section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
